Ask your AI tool for the data you need. It calls Kadoa’s MCP tools, and Kadoa’s agent builds the workflow.

Before you begin

  • Your AI tool connected to Kadoa. See Connect your AI tool. The hosted server uses OAuth, so you need no API key.
  • Members, Admins, and Owners approve previews in the dashboard. See Preview and approval.

Choose the source

One workflow covers one website. See the source rules. Include the URL in your request, for example:
Your AI tool passes the URL to create_workflow.

Write the prompt

A prompt drives every workflow. It describes in plain language what to extract and how to get there. The agent follows it on its own and handles navigation, pagination, clicks, forms, and file downloads. For multi-step extractions, write clear steps in order. See Prompts for patterns that work. Ask your AI tool, for example:
Your AI tool calls create_workflow with your request as the prompt.

Auto-detect fields

Give Kadoa a source without naming fields. Kadoa suggests a data schema and extracts all relevant data from the page. Ask your AI tool, for example:
Your AI tool calls create_workflow.

Define the fields

Name each field yourself for precise control over the output. Name the fields in your request, for example:
Your AI tool passes the fields to create_workflow as a schema.

Limit the rows per run

A row limit caps how many records each run extracts. Without one, the workflow extracts all rows. Ask your AI tool, for example:
create_workflow takes limit, the maximum records to extract per run. To remove a limit later, your AI tool calls update_workflow with limit set to null.

Schedule the workflow

A new workflow runs once unless you give it a schedule. Ask your AI tool, for example:
create_workflow takes updateInterval, which defaults to ONLY_ONCE, and cron expressions in schedules. See Scheduling for every interval, cron examples, and timezones.

Create from a template

If your team has templates, start the workflow from one. The schema, data quality rules, notifications, frequency, and record limit come from the template. The workflow links to the template’s latest version, and the template-managed parts become read-only on the workflow. You can still add instructions for this source. Kadoa keeps them separate from the template’s setup prompt, so later template updates do not overwrite them. Ask your AI tool, for example:
Your AI tool calls create_workflow with templateId. Without templateVersion, it uses the latest published version. The prompt then holds only instructions specific to this workflow.
